The Mag One BPR 40 digital is Motorola's entry business radio, built for sites that want reliable coverage without a feature set anybody has to be trained on.
This model carries 16 channels at 4 W on UHF. Motorola gives it a large channel knob so a user can change channel by feel, a tricolor LED that shows radio status and battery level at a glance, and voice announcement so an action or alert is confirmed audibly rather than only on a screen it does not have.
Battery save mode is what makes the runtime work in practice, and nuisance channel delete keeps a busy channel out of a scan list without reprogramming the radio. Repeater talkaround lets the fleet keep talking directly if the repeater is unavailable.
The digital model adds private call for a one to one conversation, and mixed-mode scan so it monitors digital and analog channels together. That is what lets a site move to digital gradually rather than replacing every radio at once.
