Motorola HKLN4601 Single Wire PTT Surveillance Earpiece

The HKLN4601 is Motorola's surveillance-style earpiece with push-to-talk, listed in the RM Series user guide as a dual pin surveillance kit with PTT on a slim plug, PVC free.

Surveillance style means the audio reaches the ear through a clear acoustic tube rather than a visible earphone, so the only thing showing is a translucent coil. It is the style chosen wherever a radio should not be part of the customer's impression of the place - hotels, retail floors, events, front of house - and it is also the easiest style to share, because the tube is the part that touches the wearer.

Motorola specifies it as PVC free, which some workplaces require on procurement grounds. The HKLN4599 earpiece with in-line microphone and the HKLN4604 swivel earpiece are the alternatives in the same table.
