ICOM F1100D / F2100D IDAS VHF/UHF Portables

The ICOM F1100D/F2100D series gives organizations a practical path from analog FM to IDAS digital communication. The VHF F1100D and UHF F2100D combine loud audio, compact controls and IP67 protection for hospitality, facilities, education, security and field operations.

Who it is for

The F1100D and F2100D are for organizations that run analog today and want a radio that can move to IDAS digital on their own schedule: hotels, schools, hospitals, security and facilities teams. They share the F1000 body, so an analog fleet can add digital units without retraining anyone. Layouts: 16-channel with no display, the DS with a display and limited keypad, and the DT with a full keypad.

Size, weight and battery

• Size: 2.1 x 4.4 x 1.2 in (52.2 x 111.8 x 29.4 mm) with the BP-280 battery on the non-display and DS versions, projections not included; the DT is 1.3 in deep.
• Weight: 9.1 to 9.8 oz (258 to 277 g) with the BP-280 and MB-133 clip, depending on version.
• Battery: the supplied BP-280 (2400 mAh typical) runs up to 18 hours on VHF or 17 hours on UHF at 5 W, 5:5:90 duty cycle; the BC-213 desktop charger refills it in about 3.5 hours.
• Protection: IP67, IP55 and IP54 ratings, tested to 12 categories of MIL-STD-810-G.
• In the box: BP-280 battery, BC-213 desktop charger, AC adapter, MB-133 belt clip and antenna (contents may differ by version).

Licence

This radio operates on licensed business frequencies. An FCC business radio licence (Part 90) is required to transmit; CMI can point you at the process when you order.

Accessories that fit

CMI connector codes: S3A and S3B. Icom's brochure names these options, and these are on CMI's site: the HS-94 earphone headset, the FA-SC57VS stubby antenna (VHF, 160 to 174 MHz) and the FA-SC73US stubby antenna (UHF, 450 to 490 MHz). Icom's brochure notes that the HS-94 headset needs either the VS-4LA PTT switch cable or the OPC-2004LA VOX adapter cable to plug in. The HM-222HLWP high-output speaker microphone, the BP-280 battery and the BC-213 and BC-214 chargers are not listed online; ask CMI by part number.
