ICOM IP501H LTE Radio

The ICOM IP501H provides wide-area push-to-talk over supported 4G LTE and 3G networks without requiring a customer-owned repeater system. Its familiar portable-radio controls support fast individual, group and all-call communication for teams working across cities, regions or dispersed sites.

The IP501H is for teams spread across a city or a region who want a radio in the hand and the carrier's LTE network doing the work: delivery and service fleets, security patrols covering several sites, event crews and any organization that does not want to own a repeater. Calls go through as individual, group, talkgroup or all-call, and the radio can hold a full-duplex conversation like a phone.

Licence and service

No FCC business radio licence is involved: the IP501H works on a carrier's LTE network under an Icom SIM and service plan, which must be active before the radio can talk. Coverage follows the carrier. CMI will confirm the US version and the plan when you order.

Accessories that fit

CMI connector code: S2B. Icom's brochure names the HS-94 earphone headset among the headsets for this radio; it needs either the OPC-2006LS plug adapter cable or the OPC-2328 PTT switch cable, and works in simplex mode only. The HM-183LS and HM-186LS speaker microphones, the BP-272 battery and the BC-202IP2 and BC-211 chargers are not listed online; ask CMI by part number.
