ICOM IP110H WLAN Radio

The ICOM IP110H delivers license-free, real-time team voice over an organization’s existing wireless LAN. It is designed for hotels, hospitals, warehouses, campuses, tunnels and other sites where managed Wi-Fi coverage can replace or extend a conventional radio system.

Who it is for

The IP110H is for buildings that already have managed Wi-Fi and want radio-style push-to-talk on it without an FCC licence or a repeater: hotels, hospitals, warehouses, schools and office campuses. It is a system product: the handsets talk through Icom's IP1000C controller or a VE-PG4 gateway over your access points, so the Wi-Fi survey and the controller come first and the radios second.

• Battery: more than 20 hours on a 1:1:8 transmit, receive and standby duty ratio; charging takes about 4 hours with the BC-257 charger and BC-228 adapter.
• Wi-Fi: IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, with WPA2-Enterprise, WPA-Enterprise, WPA2-PSK and WPA-PSK security.
• Protection: IP67 and IP54 ratings; passed 12 categories of MIL-STD-810 tests; operating range of 14 to 140 F (-10 to +60 C).
• System: one IP1000C controller handles up to 100 WLAN radios; a VE-PG4 gateway handles up to 50 and can bridge to IP phones and conventional radio systems.
• In the box: OPC-2480 USB charging cable and MBB-1 belt clip.

Licence

None needed for the radios: Icom describes the IP110H as licence-free communication, because it uses your wireless LAN rather than a licensed radio channel.

Accessories that fit

CMI connector code: I5. Icom's brochure names the HS-94 earphone headset among the headsets for this radio. The VS-3 Bluetooth headset, the HM-186PI speaker microphone, the BC-257 charger and the IP1000C and VE-PG4 system components are not listed online; ask CMI by part number.
