The Motorola CP100d in its UHF digital configuration, 403–480 MHz at 4 watts. Choose standard or high-capacity channel count, and a non-display, display or full-keypad control head.

Key specifications

  • Color: Black.
  • Use: Professional business communication and migration from analog to MOTOTRBO DMR digital operation.
  • Frequency: UHF 403–480 MHz.
  • Channel capacity: 16 channels on non-display models; 160 channels on display, limited-keypad and full-keypad models.
  • Coverage: Site-dependent. Terrain, building construction, antenna selection, programming and repeater design affect usable range.

UHF only. This radio cannot communicate with a VHF radio. Match the band of the fleet it is joining.

Digital. Clearer audio at the edge of range and more efficient channel use, and it can operate in analog mode alongside an existing analog fleet during a migration.

Supplied and supported by CMI Communications.

Who it is for

The CP100d is Motorola's entry MOTOTRBO portable for hotels, light manufacturing, events and facilities teams: a sealed, drop-tested radio with a channel knob, programmable buttons and voice announcement of channel changes, so housekeeping and floor staff can use it without looking at it. This page is the UHF digital configuration at 4 W; choose a non-display 16-channel radio or a display radio with 160 channels. In digital mode it gives two voice paths in one 12.5 kHz licensed channel, with dual capacity direct mode doing that without a repeater, pre-programmed text messages, and transmit interrupt (decode); it also runs analog channels, so a site can migrate one radio at a time. UHF suits buildings and built-up sites; read UHF vs VHF two-way radios if the band is still open, and analog vs digital two-way radios for what digital changes.

Size, weight and battery

  • Power and band: 4 W high and 1 W low on UHF 403 to 480 MHz; 12.5 kHz channel spacing (25 kHz may not be available in the United States under FCC narrowbanding).
  • Channels: 16 on the non-keypad model, 160 on the display models.
  • Size: 4.7 x 2.2 in face, 1.3 in deep on the non-keypad model with the 1700 mAh pack (120.0 x 55.0 x 33.0 mm) and 1.4 in on the display models (36.5 mm); 1.6 in (40.6 mm) with the 2250 mAh high-capacity pack.
  • Weight: non-keypad 9.7 oz (276 g), display models 10.4 oz (295 g), with the 1700 mAh pack; 9.9 oz (281 g) and 10.6 oz (300 g) with the 2250 mAh pack.
  • Battery life: with the 1700 mAh Li-Ion pack, 10.7 hours analog or 14.4 hours digital; with the 2250 mAh high-capacity pack, 15.0 hours analog or 20.0 hours digital, at a 5/5/90 duty cycle with carrier squelch and the transmitter in high power; Motorola notes that observed runtime varies.
  • Protection: IP54 for dust and water; MIL-STD 810C, D, E, F and G; operating temperature -30 C to +60 C; passed Motorola's Accelerated Life Testing, a simulation of five years of hard use with drop, temperature shock, vibration, dust, ESD and humidity.

Licence

This radio operates on licensed business frequencies. An FCC business radio licence (Part 90) is required to transmit; CMI can point you at the process when you order.
