Who it is for

Motorola positions the Curve as the essential staff radio for small retail, hospitality, restaurant and hotel teams: a licence-free digital radio for push-to-talk, with Wi-Fi used for the extras rather than for the voice call itself. A voice assistance button on the radio lets a user log in and out, start a private call or group call by saying a name or a department, and leave or pick up voicemail when a live conversation would interrupt a customer. Motorola quotes an extended range of up to 300,000 square feet, varying with terrain and conditions, with 10 channel options; the Curve is interoperable with Motorola's DTR and DLR radios, and the Curve Portal manages devices, profiles and permissions. A programmable top button carries direct call, call all available, page all, private reply, priority contact list, scan and mute. Licence

Motorola states the Curve is a digital radio device that does not require a licence to operate. No FCC business radio licence is needed.

Motorola's Curve brochure names the PMLN8311 over-the-ear earpiece, the PMLN8392 holster, the PMPN4587 single-unit charger, the PMPN4589 six-pocket multi-unit charger, the BT90 standard-capacity battery and the PMNN4578 BT110 high-capacity battery, plus the HKKN4027 programming cable and HKKN4028 cloning cable.
