Motorola Mag One BPR 50dX VHF Digital Two-Way Business Radio

The Mag One BPR 50dX is the digital radio in Motorola's value range, and two figures explain who buys it: 23 hours of talk time and a 3 watt audio output, which Motorola describes as the loudest in the family.

Loudness matters more than most specifications on a noisy site. A radio nobody can hear gets turned up, then gets ignored, and the 3 watt output is aimed squarely at that. Motorola quotes battery life of 16 hours analog and 23 hours digital.

It carries 64 channels on 136 to 174 MHz at 12.5 and 25 kHz spacing, with custom channel announcements so a channel is named aloud rather than numbered, and nuisance channel delete for keeping a busy channel out of a scan.

Sealing is IP55 for dust and water ingress. The radio measures 4.8 x 2.1 x 1.2 inches and weighs 10.6 oz with battery, antenna and belt clip.
