Motorola DLR1060 Digital 6-channel 900Mhz 2-Way Radio

The DLR1060 is a digital radio that needs no FCC license, operating in the 900 MHz ISM band. Motorola's own model table gives it six channels at 1 W EIRP.

Its most distinctive feature is what it does not have. The antenna is non-removable and sits inside the body, so there is no stub to snag on a doorway, catch on a shelf edge or snap off in a pocket. For front-of-house work - a restaurant floor, a store, a hotel - that matters as much for how the radio looks as for how long it lasts.

Being digital on a license-free band is the combination worth understanding. A site gets digital calling and private replies without a licensing process, and without competing for the crowded analog business frequencies.

Motorola lists the package as the radio, a holster, a Lithium-Ion battery, a quick reference guide, a product safety and RF exposure booklet and a warranty card, with a drop-in tray charger and power adapter shown as optional. Motorola notes in the same guide that batteries with different capacities and operational life may become available.
