Open PDF covers the model family, not this configuration

The MOTOTRBO R7 is the most heavily sealed radio in Motorola's commercial range. Motorola tests it to IP66 and IP68, which covers two hours of submersion as well as high-pressure water jets from any direction, and the screen itself is ruggedised against drops.

This configuration is the UHF model with no keypad. A full keypad suits a fleet where users enter contacts or text; a no-keypad radio is the tougher choice for a crew that only ever changes channel, with fewer controls to press by accident through a glove.

Audio is where the R7 separates itself. Motorola pairs multiple microphones with adaptive noise cancelling and quotes a loudness of 102 dB, so it is built for the sites where a radio is normally unusable. The display runs 320 x 240 pixels behind the keypad.

Connectivity covers Wi-Fi 5 on 2.4 and 5 GHz with Bluetooth 5.2, so programming and updates run over the air. IMPRES self-calibrating batteries remove the reconditioning downtime that ordinary packs create, and IMPRES chargers extend the charge cycles each battery delivers.

Supplied with a remote speaker microphone, so the radio stays on the belt while the speaker and transmit button sit at the shoulder.
