Motorola PMLN8125 CPLe short Swivel G-Hook Earpiece With In-Line Mic and PTT

The PMLN8125 is the short-cord version of Motorola's CLPe over-the-ear earpiece with in-line microphone and push-to-talk. Motorola's CLP Series brochure lists it beside the standard PMLN8077 and gives the reason for it plainly: use the short cord when placing the CLPe higher up on the body.

Cord length is not a detail on a worn radio. A standard cord assumes the radio sits at the waist. If the radio is in a breast pocket, on a lapel, or in the magnetic case on a tabard, the surplus loops, snags and eventually pulls the earpiece out at the worst moment.

As with the standard earpiece, an audio accessory is how the CLPe is designed to be used rather than an optional extra: the radio's audio output is specified at 10 mW into 16 ohms.
