Motorola Wave TLK-110 Cellular 2 Way Radio

The TLK-110 is a two-way radio that does not use two-way radio frequencies. It pushes to talk over a 4G cellular network, which means its coverage is the carrier's coverage rather than a few hundred thousand square feet around a site. For an organization whose people are spread across a city, or across states, that is a different product category rather than a better radio.

It carries 96 channels and connects on 4G FDD bands B2, B4, B5, B7, B12, B13, B17, B25 and B26. Talkgroups can be set up remotely and can be driven by location, so a supervisor changes who talks to whom without touching the handsets, and it works with WAVE PTX dispatch.

The safety and audio features are where it earns its place on a lone worker's belt. Motorola lists man down and fall alert, AI-based noise suppression, and an integral GNSS receiver supporting GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou with a hot-start time to first fix of around 10 seconds.

Physically it is 5.3 in (134 mm) high without the antenna and weighs 6.95 oz (197 g) with the battery. The 3.7 V nominal 2500 mAh PMNN4578 pack gives 18 hours of operating time, which Motorola notes varies with use and conditions. It is rated IP67 and tested per Military Standard 810 for thermal shock, humidity, electrostatic discharge and packaging.
