Radios for Hospitals & Medical Centers

Hospitals combine quiet patient areas, noisy service spaces and some of the most challenging indoor coverage conditions. CMI helps facilities, environmental services, patient transport, operations and security teams choose professional radios, wearable audio and charging solutions built around the facility and the way each department works.

Communicate. Mobilize. Improve.

How CMI radios work here

  • Communicate

Connect clinical floors, environmental services, transport and security across a building where a single team may be spread over several levels.

  • Mobilize

Get the nearest qualified person to a room, a spill, a transfer or a security call without paging a whole department.

  • Improve

Shorter time from request to response, less unnecessary walking, and coordination that holds up across a shift change.

Clear coordination across departments, floors and shifts

Hospital support teams need immediate group communication for room turnover, patient transport, maintenance, supply movement, access control and incident response. The right system balances coverage, clear audio, discreet listening and role-based communication without forcing staff to navigate a phone app during time-sensitive work. A department can start with a focused fleet, while larger facilities may need multiple channels or talkgroups, site infrastructure, Wi-Fi or LTE options.

  • Coverage designed for the facility

Account for multiple floors, concrete walls, elevators, service corridors and exterior areas.

  • The right audio for each zone

Pair radios with discreet earpieces or wearable devices in patient-facing areas and louder accessories in service spaces.

  • Department-level organization

Use consistent programming and role-based channels or talkgroups to keep routine traffic manageable.

  • Shift-ready power

Standardized batteries and centralized multi-unit charging make readiness easier to see and manage.

Retail range claims are not a hospital coverage plan

Headline range numbers on consumer-radio packaging do not tell you how a device will perform between floors, behind concrete or in mechanical and service areas. Low-cost units may also create a patchwork of batteries, chargers and settings that becomes difficult to manage at scale. Professional radios can be chosen for the actual building, programmed as one fleet and supported with commercial accessories and replacement components. CMI can help identify where an on-site radio, Wi-Fi device, LTE solution or more complete system is the better fit.
